Descisions would be so much easier if we didn’t have to choose

Woke up this morning pondering on the day ahead: what to do first, this or that, tea or coffee, which film, which restaurant…And that was before I got out of bed…

I’m sure you’ve all been there!

The problem? Decisions are followed by consequences – so indecision is inevitable; especially when you add costly expense, jeopardise my job, not worked with you before or better the devil you know to the equation!

So with all the decisions people have to make on a day-to-day basis, make it easier for people to make them. It can be as simple as:

  • Provide all the information they need – not just what they asked for (see the decision(s) they make through their eyes)
  • Make sure you can ‘back up’ everything you say – testimonials are great for this
  • Understand that although you have a good relationship with your client/customer, there maybe others involved in the decision making process and if your contact leaves during the process, unless you have made other contacts within the organisation, the chances of you ‘exiting the door’ are that much higher …

“There are times when a battle decides everything, and there are times when the most insignificant thing can decide the outcome of a battle” – Napoleon Bonaparte

Just make sure you take care of all the little things and then the term ‘bad choice’ will be taken out of the equation!

So can anyone recommend a good movie to watch tonight – I can’t decide ;)
