My QR Code

The Paradigm shift with QR Codes is growing within Advertising, ALL types of Print media, Mobile and e-media communications, information, marketing, product packaging & labeling, POS signage, Print Ads and promotions will never be the same.

Although QR Codes are common in Japan and becoming common in Europe and Nordic countries, their use in print based media is one of several major introductions to the UK market that is expected to become as common as e-mail, texting, web surfing and UPC bar codes.

Most of us will soon be exposed to many QR Codes daily.

QR Code store front decals will become as common as the Visa and Mastercard sign at most retailers and as common on product Labeling and Packaging as the age old UPC barcodes.

I can see some very exciting uses on the horizon that will allow users to access additional content and/or information how and when they want to.

And with M&S (Marks & Spencers) trialing them on some of their products (Cracknuit.com) it won’t be long until the codes become mainstream.

If you want to try using them, there are a variety of places you can download the readers from – depending on your phone. I use NeoReader (free) and QuickMark (not free!) on my iPhone. They work on other phones just check the drop down menu. I use Beetagg for my Blackberry. Again, this works on other mobile phones as well but at this posting I believe it is the only one that works on BlackBerry’s. (needs varfying)

You can create your own QR code here, when you do leave a link to it in the comments below and I’ll bookmark it :)

Enjoy…!
